1. CBD is the Main Component of Cannabis

CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is one of more than 85 compounds that are unique to the cannabis plant. CBD and THC are two of the most prominent cannabinoids in cannabis.

2. You Can Only Get Legal CBD from Approved Cultivators of Hemp

In many countries, CBD oil has now been legalized, but only if it contains below 0.2% of THC.  Only particular types of hemp plants or cultivators contain low THC CBD oil, Additionally, every country has their own list of hemp plants that growers are allowed to cultivate.

3. You Can’t Get High Off of CBD Oil

If you plan on using CBD oil, it will not give you the feeling of being ‘high’ that is normally associated with cannabis. This is because the high is caused by THC, which binds to certain nerve receptors in your brain. Instead, CBD oil gives you the benefit of its therapeutic actions by other indirect means.

4. The Use of Cannabis Is Not New

People have been using cannabis for many years.  The only difference is that people have not used pure CBD as you can now. Interestingly, Europe and the United Kingdom consider any food item, including CBD, to be a novel food if it wasn’t widely used before 1997. This means that in Europe and the United Kingdom, have exceptionally strict quality controls.  It also shines a bright light on the need for safety studies.

5. CBD and Hemp Oil Are Not the Same

CBD oil and Hemp oil are from the same plant, which, as you can imagine, creates a lot of confusion. However, CBD oil is extracted from the hemp buds and flowers, while hemp oil can be extracted from the seed of the plant. The seed of the plant doesn’t contain any cannabinoids.

6. There Isn’t an Established Effective Dose of CBD Oil

There are so many people who use CBD oil, or other like products to help manage their medical conditions, that science is unable to establish the perfect dose that addresses each medical condition. This means that the only way you can find the perfect dosage for you, is by experimentation. In other words, the perfect dose is different depending on the individual.

7. CBD Oil Extracted from Hemp is Legal

CBD oil comes directly from industrial hemp or medical cannabis plants. Keep in mind that according to federal law, cannabis is still illegal in many states, while others have legalized it.  However, because of its low THC content, industrial hemp doesn’t fall under these regulations. What this means is that you can choose CBD oil as a supplement without the legal repercussions.

8. CBD Works Best with Other Cannabinoids.

Many pharmacological drugs will only use one chemical compound to help you with your medical issues. Recently, studies have shown that this strategy won’t work with natural compounds.  CBD oil works better if you combine it with other cannabinoids. Why this is true is still unclear to scientists.

9. Your Body Produces Cannabinoids and CBD Oil Helps

Cannabinoids called “phytocannabinoids” are found in plants. Cannabinoids called “endocannabinoids” are produced naturally in your body.  An enzyme called FAAH is mainly responsible for breaking down anandamides which activates your CB1 receptor. CBD oil inhibits FAAH, meaning more beneficial anandamides can flow through your body.

Your CB1 receptor is responsible for such things as reducing depression, lowering blood pressure and anxiety, reducing paranoia and fear, and many other benefits.

10. CBD Oil Has Natural Benefits

Cannabidiol, found in the cannabis plant, is showing promising potential therapies for many illnesses according to ongoing research.  Some of the illnesses that CBD oil is showing promise in treating include, but aren’t limited to: pain, Parkinson’s, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, and anxiety.
